Mooney Annual Inspections at Gastonia (KAKH)

A Mooney annual is easiest at a shop that knows the airplane. AGL Aviation Services is an Authorized Mooney Service Center at Gastonia Municipal Airport (KAKH). Annual inspections are performed and signed off by an IA on staff.

What the annual covers

Every annual follows the FAA's inspection requirements and the Mooney maintenance manual for your model, plus a review of the airworthiness directives that apply to your airframe, engine, propeller and appliances. On a Mooney, we pay close attention to:

  • Landing gear: the retraction system, gear doors, shock discs and the manual extension system.
  • Structure: the tubular steel cabin frame, and any corrosion in the areas where it tends to start.
  • Fuel system: the wet-wing tanks, sealant condition and any signs of seepage.
  • Flight controls: rigging, rod ends and trim.
  • Engine and accessories: compression, ignition, exhaust and baffling.

Before we start

Send us your aircraft model, serial number and recent logbook entries. If you'd like an upgrade done during the annual, tell us up front so parts can be ordered and the work planned around the inspection: an EI engine monitor, SureFly electronic ignition, Beringer wheels and brakes or a Dynon install.

Squawks and findings

If we find an item that needs repair, we'll contact you with the finding before doing the work. Pitot-static leak checks are done in the hangar. IFR certifications are coordinated through a certificated repair station.

Not a Mooney?

Annual and 100-hour inspections for Piper, Cessna, Maule and Socata TB aircraft are handled by our parent company, Aero Professionals, in the same hangar.
